Holiday Blog Challenge

November 29, 2011

I decided to join up with this fun blog Challenge. I still have to do a quick recap of my holiday weekend but trust me it wasn’t that interesting! Check out Neely’s blog and link up with me! I am a day behind but Day two is:

Favorite Holiday Tradition New or Old
My absolute favorite holiday memory is opening the gifts on Christmas morning. We all know that a certain someone does not really exist now but that doesn’t stop us from opening presents in the morning every year. When it was just my sister and I we would get up very very early and drag my parents to the living room. When my younger brother was born he would force us all up and drag us to the living room and now that my nephew is around they both get up ridiculously early and drag us to the living room. I am 26 now but every year I go to my parents and spend the night, wear some cute pajamas and prepare myself to get up seriously early to open up presents that I usually helped my mom wrap. I don’t know where I will be in the next few years but I hope to always be there Christmas morning to wake up with my family.

I think this is Xmas 2009

Yes that is me believe it or not
Link up so I can learn some fun Holiday things about you!

Things to be thankful for…and some not…

November 23, 2011

I am a day early but that is because I will probably try my best to avoid touching a computer tomorrow. I am getting up unnecessarily early to run the Naperville Turkey Trot 5K with my family in the morning which means I will not be partying tonight like most of the nation. I actually rarely do go out for Black Wednesday, I prefer to sit at home and drink while I bake and get ready for Turkey day. I love the holidays, I wish that we were doing things the usual way going to my mother’s place but one of my cousins called having it at his house first and so I am stuck going there. Not that I don’t love my extended family but when you put that many Puerto Ricans in a house together…well…yea it can get really loud. Anyway on to the thankful and not so thankful list.
– I am thankful that I am here for another Thanksgiving
-I am thankful for my amazing parents, brother, sister and nephew(they make my heart happy)
-I am thankful for my amazing friends and all the emotional support they have given me this year
-I am thankful for my job however frustrating it might be
-I am thankful for blogging and all the amazing things I have been introduced to in the blogging world
-So So thankful for internet w/out it my life would be a mess
-I am thankful that I am finally starting to feel better about my decisions this year
-I am thankful that I dont’ have any crazy things I need to buy on Black Friday so no standing in line
egh….
–I am not so thankful that this is the first Thanksgiving in over 5 years I am single
(I rarely got to actually spend the holidays w/The Boy because of his work but we always enjoyed them)
–I am not so thankful that I will not get to spend this holiday feeling a certain way because of some decisions I made this year.

Thank goodness there is much more to be thankful for than not.
I hope everyone out there has an amazing Thanksgiving.
Eat a ton and hug everyone you love, be thankful for it all 🙂

Breaking Dawn

November 18, 2011

So of course I went to see the movie at midnight as I have the last two. I didn’t see the first one at midnight because I actually happened upon the movie when a friend was in town. After that I became a huge fan and read the books( in like 4 days) I love the story and the characters and definitely don’t care that it is not really meant for a 26 year old. Love stories are always great and what woman doesn’t love one between a vampire, a human and a werewolf? Even though I am a fan I never fail to mention how disturbing and borderline psychotic the love between Bella and Edward really is. I mean come on ladies, if a man was creeping into your room at night to watch you sleep you might have to call the cops. Still, I love it. I saw this little link up at Marcy’s. I probably should have taken this yesterday but it still counts!

1. Are you going to see the Breaking Dawn
Yes, I did of course! I went with my sister & brother and even though we got there at 10:45 the theater was packed!
2. Scene you’re most looking forward to in Breaking Dawn?
I was most looking forward tot he honeymoon, I was dying to see how they handled it AND it was fantastic for a PG-13 rating. Ooh and I love LOVED her dress!!!

3. Team Edward or Jacob?
Jacob all the way. Going simply by looks I think he is gorgeous w/that sexy tan and cheekbones to die for…lets not start on the abs. But I do love his character as well, he is such a sweetheart and for most of the books he is getting his heart stomped on.

Come on look at that jawline. seriously.

🙂
4. Favorite book in the Saga?
I think my favorite book was still Twilight. I read it after seeing the movies and I still think it was the sweetest one.

5. Favorite character in the series and why?
I actually am also a huge fan of Bella’s Dad. He is so sweet and cares so much for her and his character is funny in a “not trying” kind of way.

6. Why do you love Twilight?

I love a good love story. I love that there is a pull in Bella’s heart not to lose Jacob. Even though as I mentioned above it is a bit borderline crazy(think Romeo & Juliet) I think it would be amazing to find someone I could love nearly that much. All that and the fact that I love supernatural stories. Just so much Love.

7. Are the books or movies better?
I think they are both great because the books are so detailed and paint even more of a love story in your mind but the movies give you the characters that you always imagined.

 8. What do you dislike about the series?
I wouldn’t say there is anything I dislike except that there is only 1 more movie left and no more books to read 🙁

9. Your craziest fan moment.

I am going to have to say going to the midnight shows is as far as it goes for me. I am too damn old to be obsessing over vampires and werewolves and staying up late with all those tweens.

10. Do you have a Twilight collection?
I do have the movies and the books. I considered getting a poster but I am not sure where I could put it where I wouldn’t be judged.
I love this photo. Both men look super hot 🙂

If you saw the movie or are just excited to see it let me know 🙂
