Five on Friday!

January 10, 2014

{1}
So its 34° outside right now…it literally might as well be summer in Chicago. I was born & raised here and still the weather never ceases to amaze me. Monday it was -15 with a -40 windchill and today 34°. Crazy.

Yesterday I was looking at photos from my time in China and I realized how much I actually miss it. I miss my coworkers and my students so much that it makes me quite sad sometimes. It being my first time away from Chicago and my family & friends for a whole year without coming home made it so hard to really appreciate the amazing things I was experiencing all the time.

This girl needs a night out! I have not been out with my girls & bestie G without The Boy in 2 months. I have never been one of those girls that does everything with her boyfriend and somehow that is exactly what has happened. Do you ever just need a night out with just friends(no SO)???
I need high heels, a cute dress and some drinks!!

This weekend I plan to get my blogging shizz in order. I am going to make a plan and stick to it! Ok…I am going to really really try to make that happen!
I have an idea of the kinds of posts I want for certain days and link ups that I enjoy participating in and it would really help if I didn’t leave every post up to the  morning of.

It is effing Friday!!! Woooooo!
I don’t have a 5th thing to share because I posted exactly what was on my mind every day this week so….Instead I share a song that I am loving this week:

I may have mentioned before I am a big Eric Church fan 🙂

December 17, 2013

This weekend was all things Christmas and it was great! I can actually say it was the best weekend I have had in months…I got to spend time with The Boy, my family and both of my best friends.

All our Christmas fun started with a visit the Macys Santa downtown:
Holding our place in a almost 2 hour long line…

After 7 years together The Boy & I took our first Santa picture together
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then we went off to the Christkindlmarket for some grub & shopping. Luckily it was snowing and around 30 so it wasn’t too awful to be outside.
It is impossible to take a cute selfie when layers of clothes on…my arms just don’t move as well as they should.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sunday started with a friend throwing her annual Christmas Tea Party. I loved the idea and she throws great themed parties. I think there were about 30 women in the house!

The youngest member of the group 🙂
Then…

I made a meetup for the Couples Group I have to go to the Zoolights at Lincoln Park Zoo. We were not lucky enough to have good weather on Sunday night. It was around 14 and very windy. The 3 couples that showed up were great and we ended up having a fantastic time with them.

So overall…a fantastically(made up word??) festive weekend!
Have you done anything festive in your City yet?

Monday Mornings

December 9, 2013

After my drive this morning I am starting to take the idea of moving out of Chicago seriously. I hate snow. I know I know…everyone complains about it but I can’t help myself. I am a terrible driver when the roads are clear so add in snow and I hate the world even more.

I wish I could say I had some amazing exciting news for this Monday but I don’t. I had a good weekend, the school’s staff Holiday Party was this weekend at Cafe Ba Ba Reba love that place! Whats a better way to spend your Saturday night then tapas and Sangria…and its all free!
Sunday the family went to the Walnut Room at Macys downtown. This place… its definitely a tradition and its always a great time and the food is good. We waited 2 hours this time, which is just fine if your walking around and if your seeing Santa(we did not this year because my sister & nephew were missing)
What did you do this weekend? Do you have any Holiday traditions or places you visit with family this time of year?
Waiting in line
