Three on Thursday: Chicago Love

May 3, 2018

Another Thursday post of Favorites thanks to Steph @ Not Entirely Perfect
One of the Chicago people I follow on Instagram recently found a list pinned to a door of the 10 things someone loves about Chicago…so I thought I would share some more of my favorites!
 1. The Flag…I don’t know what it is but I do love the Chicago Flag. Have you seen it? If not here is a little bit of info!

2.  The Food. I  mean you guys know I love food, it is basically all I post about. There are so many options for foods from just about every ethnicity and country you can imagine. If you are in the mood for it then you will find it somewhere in this city and probably at any time of day/night too. It is easy to find favorites but I always encourage people to get out of downtown and try new restaurants in the neighborhoods! In case that doesn’t make you want to come and eat you can read “Why Chicago was voted the best food city in America”

(also if you look at my food or chicago labels you will find my many many posts about food)

Just for fun I have to add a hot dog photo!

3. The Skyline/Lakefront…There aren’t many other cities in the US that boast a skyline like ours with a pretty beach(who cares if its a lake, still has sand) right by it. I always giggle a little bit when I go downtown in other cities because they always look so small compared to what I grew up seeing. I love that I can walk from the John Hancock building to Oak Street Beach and hang out during the few months it is decent enough to be outside! Also that beach front goes on forever so even if you are all the way up in Evanston or all the way down in Hyde Park you can take your ass to the beach.

Don’t worry I have love for other cities and I know plenty of things that are not so great about Chicago but can’t help showing a little love on a Thursday!

Hello Monday!

April 30, 2018

http://www.myglitteryheart.com/
I’m hoping today is quiet and the kids are as tired as I am!

Friday…We had decided to meet my brother & mom to see Infinity War late…like 11:30 pm show so we had a lot of time to kill after work. We checked out one of my favorite spots Del Seoul for yummy food!

Then headed off to the burbs to see Infinity War. Without giving away any spoilers…The theater was completely silent even after the credits & extra scenes at the end just because….By Sunday I was still not over it.

Saturday… I had a delicious brunch meetup at Parlor! I got to meet some new girls to the group and they had some fun ideas for future meetups so that was exciting! I spent the rest of the day relaxing and catching up on my shows. Scandal finale OMG! Then went out for drinks to Three Dots and a Dash and loved their drinks! I mean…for $16.50 (including tax/tip) the drinks had better be effing good.

Sunday…I got my hungover self up and out to the burbs to spend the day with my brother & mom again. (My sis is out of town) We decided to get some lunch at Joy Yee‘s(one of my fave asian places) and then went to A Colorful Affair in Naperville to do some crafts. They give you a choice of making soap, candles, mosaics, fused glass, painting on canvas, ceramics or painting wine glasses. It was kind of awesome since we had the studio to ourselves to just hang out and be creative!

Then I got to go home and meal prep and do homework…yay adulting!

Hello Monday!

April 16, 2018

I slacked so hard last week on posting so this week I am hoping to catch up and get back in a groove!

This past weekend was busy but cold and gross out so I feel like it might have put a damper on everything. I barely took photos even though I was out and about the whole weekend!

Friday night I was in the mood for italian (which never happens) so we headed down to a place I like and it was packed. Instead of waiting 2 hours we walked around the corner to Piccolo Sogno and got a seat right away. It ended up being an expensive dinner but it was all delicious and cutesy and romantic. Then we went home and watched Doctor Strange! We are about 4 movies behind in our Marvel countdown to Infinity War.

Turns out if you want great pictures of your food you shouldn’t let me take them!
Seafood Mix (Calamari, shrimp, fish, scallops)

The best gnocchi I have ever had!!

Wild Boar spaghetti

Saturday was a cold and rainy day! I headed out to Target later in the day after Thenewguy told me there were defnitely some cute things from Hunter that I might want. Unfortunately the backpacks were gone immediately. Though you can probably thank the assholes on ebay selling them for 2-3x the price they were in store for that.

Saturday night I hosted a “girls night out” meetup and so many people bailed because of weather but it ended up working out anyway.
We went to City Social for dinner…I won’t even bother sharing the picture becuase the food sucked. They also let me make a reservation even though they were supposed to close at that time and then called me 2 hours before trying to get me to change the reservation. Which since I had a group was not possible. They rushed us through our meal, while half the staff stood at the bar talking to each other and waiting for us to finish.

Headed out to Hubbard Inn…for some drinks and ended up dancing the night away there!  I love the atmosphere and look there!

Sunday I spent the day with family! We went to the mall to hang out and had dinner at Pf Changs. I have no idea why I didn’t take photos…I suck.

Today…woke up to this…
