On St. Patrick’s Day…

March 17, 2016

I am sooo ready for today to be Friday! Its been a long week.

Last Saturday the City of Chicago celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in the best way we know how…with booze. So The Boyfriend and I got up around 7 am (on a freaking Saturday) and dressed ourselves to meet friends. He was going to meet his friends to start the boozing and I went to meet friends to see them dye the river and then start drinking…either way….day drinking was the plan.

Then we started drinking…
We decided to go to the Hard Rock Cafe since they have a fun outdoor/heated tent party with live music & Food. We spent most of the morning there before we headed to another spot for a bit.

This is the face of too many ciders….

Then I left the group to meet up with The Boyfriend and his friends and basically wrap up our night. We were both pretty drunk and by the time I got to him the first thing he said was “Thank god your here, I’m ready get some food and go home” Apparently I took too long to get there. We hung out for a little longer and then hopped in a cab(Uber was 2.9x that night) and ordered food to be delivered.

I’d say that was a pretty good attempt to celebrate this year!

On Mondays…

January 25, 2016

Ahhh no Monday off this week. It is going to be a long one!

This weekend was good, I got to relax on Friday night and then go go go the rest of the weekend.

– Friday– Was all about catching up on couch time. Last week was the first week of the semester so I spent a lot of time just figuring out the new schedule and when I would be getting home everyday.

-Saturday- I spent the day shopping with my roommate. I got a couple cute new dresses and a top. There were some nice sales going on at Express & Banana Republic. Then I got home and got rid of at least one thing in my closet for every new one I bought. I need to replace my old worn out wardrobe but I don’t need to add to it.

Then The Boyfriend and I headed to dinner and out to Kings for bowling/drinks with some friends. We decided to try a new tapas place on the way to the bowling place. Ummm bad idea. The food was definitely subpar and our waitress showed up twice in the entire time we were there..didn’t even bring our check after we waited 30 minutes for it. It was  not a good experience and I am going to be adding a review on Yelp today.

I wish I had gotten a better picture of this dress because it was super cute and I got it $8!!

– Sunday The Boyfriend made/brought breakfast in bed (pancakes!!) and then I headed off to go ice skating with my family. We had a great time skating and my nephew was so much better this time around! My mom hasn’t skated in years and she didn’t fall once!

Trying to avoid a serious pile up!

We were all starving so we headed to Jim’s on Maxwell St for hot dogs & polishes. If you ever come to Chicago and want an authentic Chicago Style Hot Dog this is the place to go. Its no frills, not fancy at all but delicious! They wanted to eat in the car but since they hadn’t been there in years I told them they had to get the full experience of eating it outside!

My sister whined that it was cold but its our job to torture her so it worked out!
And then…homework. Because there was no way I was going to get away with a whole weekend without it.
How was your weekend?

On Friday Faves…

January 15, 2016

Oh man I don’t think I could have been happier for it to be Friday!!! So lets share some of my faves from this week…

– Homeless men?
I gave a dollar and some change to a homeless man on Thursday and he told me he would call me his “Peach Cobbler” I started laughing and then he proceeded to ask if he could take me to Old Country Buffet sometime. I am not shitting you this really happened. I just couldn’t help but laugh. Way to make my evening homeless man.
– Long Weekends…
Although I do have a long weekend this weekend we have one coming up in February! Some of the teachers have to go to a refresher course so we are off Thursday-Tuesday. Woooo!!!
The Boyfriend and I booked a nice weekend trip to Door County, WI so we can get away from life and spend some time together! I’m excited to check out the ice caves
– Lets Party!
My friend is back in town for one weekend before she leaves again to work on cargo ships as a chef. This time she will be gone for 5 months. Sooooo we are going to get our food, booze & music on this weekend.
– The Bachelor
I can totally see why people love this show now. Its hilarious. The Boyfriend walked in close to the end of the episode and was like what is going on..sat down and just started laughing at these girls. I was like listen….this episode #2 and this bitch has already gotten drunk and cried twice.
She has crazy eyes!!!

Also…Olivia’s mouth is effing huge and there is something sneaky about her that I am not a huge fan of.

– Books Books Books
Has anyone read the Lizzy Gardner Series? OOoh man I am loving them. I have read the first two since last week! Not even sure how I first found this..it might have been browsing the kindle unlimited books(free books = happy me) but so far I am a fan. There is a serial killer, teenage girls, a little romance, great plot. I’m a fan. Check them out if you have a chance!
– Luke Bryan
Since I just found out that Luke Bryan is coming to Chicago this summer he rounds out my favorites of the week! Super excited for that!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and if you have MLK day off like me then enjoy the long weekend!!!
