Thirsty Thursday- Cider Edition

September 14, 2017

It’s Thursday and I need a drink.

Since I started dating someone who drinks craft beer (and I genuinely dislike beer, especially crafty shit) I had to start upping my drink game. All I ever drank was Angry Orchard or Whiskey and let me tell you if you are day drinking and hitting whiskey & ginger all day you are going to be in for a hard time. So…I’ve started to explore. Here are some of my new favorite ciders.

Coincidentally fall is a great time to have some ciders! (all year is don’t listen to what i say)

{1}
Blakes Hard Cider- Mango Habanero
I actually like all their ciders but this one is my favorite. It has a spicy kick after each sip and i do love my sweet & spicy everything!

Their other options!
{2}
 Pacific Coast Dry Hard Apple Cider w/Pinot Grigio
Guys. This is Cider w/Wine. Yes, you read that right. Shit is amazing.
{3}
Woodchuck Barrel Select
(And really most of their ciders)

  The thing about this one, if you can find it, is that they are aged in bourbon barrels and it gives it this smokey flavor that if you are a bourbon drinker you will love!
{4}
Eden Sparkling Cider
The deal with this one is it’s tasty and has 8.5% abv. So yea. Whole bottle for me!
{5}
True Believer Hard Apple Cider
This one is so delicious! The thing is that it was a bday gift so I have no idea where to get it in Chicago but if you do then let me know! (Or if you want to send me a bottle because you love me)
Notable mentions…
I feel like I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention some of these because even though they aren’t all that special they are still delicious!
Ciderboys and all their wonderful flavors! Especially Grand Mimosa!

Strongbow Honey Apple is so sweet and smooth!

Monday Recipes…

May 18, 2015

I had a terribly lazy weekend…I mean Lazy. It was fantastic! I did manage to go shopping with the bestie to get a new birthday dress and I am very very excited to wear it.

I have been trying to get my ass back on the low-carb cooking all my meals path I veered off a few months ago! So I went to the trusty old Pinterest for some recipes I am planning to try!

There is a lot of cheese in most of these…which is funny since I am lactose intolerant but that is what those lactaid pills are for! I have to buy them in bulk (thank you costco!)
Do you have any favorite low carb recipes???

Tasty Tuesday on Thursday….

February 20, 2014

Since I used Tuesday to announce my blogiversary giveaway…which you should check out if you haven’t already I thought I might post my tasty recipe today instead!

(I ended up eating a few before I got a good photo)

Ingredients:
3/4 C. unsalted butter
3/4 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
2 C of flour
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt(I used sea salt)
1 C Kraft Caramel bits(or in my case cut up pieces of caramel)
1/2 C crushed pretzels

Preheat oven to 350° F. In a bowl beat sugar and butter until fluffy, add egg and vanilla. Then mix in cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips, crushed pretzels and caramel. *The dough will be chunky and look kinda dry. Spoon onto baking sheet and sprinkle with salt & pretzel.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until they start to get gold around the edges but don’t over cook.

Then enjoy! They are seriously so delicious!
