Currently: April

April 18, 2018

I haven’t done a currently since Feb so this is more of March-Mid April!

Currently I am…

Reading || I just finished Cruel Prince (FML the next book doesnt come out till 2019) and started Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman. This counts as my non-fiction for the month!

Listening To ||  Lollapalooza 2018 playlist on Spotify! I was so excited to find this, they even have playlists by day!

Watching ||  Scandal…and I recently decided to rewatch Buffy from the beginning so I am about 6 episodes in!

Hoping || This weather starts to cooperate because its effing cold in Chicago. We saw a day of decent weather before it decided to rain & snow for a few days.

Loving || the meetup group I started is really growing and I’ve been having some really fun times with the new girls I’m meeting!

Planning || Blog posts and figuring out if we are indeed going to Europe this summer or not…and some other life changes that I hope to go into here soon!

We are mid-month!! Pushing through to summer time!

March Prompts!

March 20, 2018

Another month for prompts from my class! You can see the others here & here!

– March is Women’s history month. What woman in history inspires you?
OOh this is a hard one because we have some pretty amazing women to look up to. I think I would choose Margaret Sanger right now though. If you don’t know much about her I encourage you to check this quick summary! I very much value the ability to make my choices about reproduction and having the ability to decide whether or not I want children and have ways to protect myself. It is easy to take for granted the fact that we can get birth control and condoms at all.

– National Pi Day! Share your best pie recipe to commemorate the day!
I love love caramel apple pie! I can’t seem to find the photo of the last pie I made but here is the recipe I like to use!

– Best story from your high school science class!
I loved Anatomy class and it is actually where I became friends with one of my closest friends. We had to dissect fetal pigs the first semester and mid way through one class our teacher (who was young & super fun) lets out this ridiculously girly yelp and we all crowd around to see what happened. She had been demonstrating something to a table and accidentally sliced the pigs head right off…one of the kids at the table then started to puke. Of course everyone was either horrified or thought it was hilarious but she was just kind of silent and then started laughing so hard she had tears. It was so funny and something that still comes up when I catch up with anyone that was in that class with me.

Not relevant…but still funny
– What is the first sign of spring?
I feel like in Chicago the first sign of spring is any weather over 40…suddenly everyone is outside in their light jackets acting like its summer time. So much pale skin!! Also St. Patrick’s Day usually kind of makes everyone assume its almost Spring since it is in March.
I’d love to hear some of your responses!

Valentines Day: White Castle Dinner

February 28, 2018

AJS and I wanted to do something for Valentine’s day that was cheesy and fun so I kept an eye on the sign at the White Castle near his place until I saw they were taking reservations and surprised him with the plan.

In case you didn’t know, White Castle does dinner service on Valentine’s Day. People can still walk in and order but in order to sit down to eat there you must make a reservation. They decorate, have a host, waitresses and a printed menu.

It is still White Castle food but you can order like in a real restaurant. I did not dress up but I did see a few couples in suits and dresses!

We were shown to our table, we placed an order and ate way too many sliders. There were some super cute couples all dressed up and some families with even the kids dressed up. We loved it!

If you live anywhere near a White Castle I 100% recommend it for something different and fun to do on Valentine’s Day!
