On Full Moon Jams

I’ve been saying for a while now that I really want to make it to the Full Moon Jams here in Chicago. My friend is a bellydancer & fire spinner and she has definitely introduced me to the awesome community. She is now in Thailand living it up spinning fire on Koh Phi Phi and since I miss her so much I thought I would check out some fire spinners here and just daydream about when she will be back in Chicago!

Before the jam actually starts there is free yoga to anyone who wants to join! My roomie and I decided to get there early, set up our blanket and then take advantage of free yoga outside!

Then the fire spinning & drum circle began! I was just in awe of the skills and I really wanted to get up and dance but my roomie wasn’t having it. Next time I will definitely get in there and shake it!

They even had some people doing some crazy things with LED hula hoops! 
 

It was a great time, lots of  kind and interesting people and I will definitely try to make it to the next one this month!

On beautiful days…

We have been getting some sporadically beautiful days here in Chicago and I am a happy camper! Yesterday was one of those days where it was just right so I tried to take advantage and get outdoors as much as I can. Since I am out half day for summer school its nice to get out and find things to do!

Yesterday I took full advantage and went for a run walk(technically both) in the park and I was so hyped up I decided to start using the benches for exercise. It was great!

Then I rounded up some friends and went to Rosemont for Country in the Park. Its a free concert series in the park on Tuesdays. Rosemont is a lot of fun because its a stretch of bars, theater, bowling, indoor skydiving and an outlet mall pretty much around this little park. The restaurants/bars set up booths and have cheap drink deals and some food on offer as well…they also have all their patios set up so you can listen from the restaurant too. 

It was a great time and a great way to spend a Tuesday night!! Come back tomorrow so you can read about some of my successes meeting new people in my city!

Oh what a weekend!

Let me just tell you all my weekend started Thursday and was going going going until I collapsed into a ball of mush on the couch yesterday! I had a seriously great birthday weekend and felt soo very special!

Just a heads up this post is very picture heavy!!  

I got wonderful flowers from the boyfriend and my coworkers! 

Thursday (actual birthday) I invited a couple friends out to dinner…it went from 6 people to 12 and turned into a party! It was such a fun night just having dinner/drinks at Uncle Julio’s and talking to some of my fave people!

Friday  I, of course, didn’t get many pics but I went for drinks with my coworkers to celebrate my bday and the end of the school year! Then I hung out with my friends who are in town drank in the apartment and caught up!  
Saturday night I had invited everyone to come on a booze cruise and then an after party at Emporium Arcade Bar it was unfortunately pretty chilly but we made the best of it and danced our asses off and watched some great fireworks! 


and Sunday.…I woke up…rolled over…ate breakfast…rolled back over…ate lunch….rolled over again and then got up and did groceries and meal prepped for the week. All while hanging out with my two friends who leave me today. #sosad

I’d say it was a damn good weekend!
